The wife and I saw Wicked last night. The Broadway series musical is touring in Chicago and has been for quite some time. Tickets are extremely difficult to obtain in a desirable section. If I am not mistaken the show is sold out every night it has been performed which played well for us as we get tickets through a connection that works at the theatre and hooked us up with phenomenal seats dead center, eight rows back. This was my first musical and I must admit it was not a terrible experience. What I was most impressed with was the set at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre. This elaborate set took some serious engineering with all the mechanics and lighting. Nor should I over look that impressive architecture within the grand theatre.

The event of the night though must have been the terrific dinner Cat and I shared at Coast. They serve some of the best sushi in the city and it is BYOB (which I love, so as not to pay double for that same bottle you have sitting in your rack). Our selection included Toro, Sake, Suzuki and Hamachi for nigiri. We chose the Dragon, Spider and the staple of our order(s) the Spicy Tuna roll. I forgot to mention the white tuna sashimi appetizer. I highly recommend Coast for your sushi fix but get reservations many, many days in advance they are always packed.
